Please help newbie

I have a file with a .avi extension, its about 700mb in size, i used a programme called cucusoft video convertor, to change the .avi file into dvd format (creates an mpeg about 1.6gb in size) then i use ulead movie factory 3 to make my dvd disc, so far i have done 2 movies and all went well until this 700mb file decided to come out of cucusoft upside down. i burned the dvd anyway hoping movie factory would sort it out, but it hasnt, it plays upside down on my stand alone dvd player, i checked the file information and it is a mpeg2 (svcd/dvd), how can i flip this movie the right way, i have read the forums but have not found a solution, please help, thank you, in advance
