Are there any films you guys are fans of that haven't come to DVD yet? By that I mean older films. Still holding on to some old VHS tapes for a good reason? Here are a few of mine:

    1. Mi Vida Loca

    2. My Best Friend Is A Vampire- A stupid, stupid movie. Truly a "fanboy" guilty pleasure.

    3. Mi Familia- My Family- According to Amazon this one's coming out next month. They've been wrong before so I'll believe it when I see it.

    Greetings.

I'm a big fan of My Best Friend Is A Vampire, also.

There are several movies which I don't remember their titles right now which I would like to see on DVD.

I just found out that The Wraith is on DVD. I just love that car. 8)

Sherilyn Fenn...MMMMMMMMM. I must have watched that movie 100 times when I was a kid! Back then I didn't mind so much when HBO would play the same damned movie every day. Another fanboy classic indeed.

I too am waiting for Orgazmo to come out. Such a funny movie.

"Can't I just call them the naughty twins?"
"Why would you call them the naughty twins when the get fucked in their ass all the time?"

So many classic lines from that movie.

  9. I'd be writing a book if I listed all the movies I wish were available on DVD - many have never even made it to video cassette.
I don't necessarily want to own them all...just see a bunch I haven't yet seen. There are hundreds from the '60s and '70s I'm trying to track down.

Some that would like to have on DVD that I currently own on VHS are -

    Buster And Billie
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071258/

One of the best films I've ever seen.

    I Wanna Hold Your Hand
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077714/

Great comedy - and you don't have to be a fan of the Beatles (I'm certainly not) to enjoy it - they aren't even in it.

    3 Women
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075612/

Happy to see this one is finally being released - it's one of a kind.
Subtle comedy about 3 very odd women - try to imagine what it would be like if Carrie (Sissy Spacek) and Olive Oyl (Shelley Duvall) met and decided to share an apartment
One becomes so obsessed with the other that she starts to think she is her.
I got a very big kick out of this movie.

    Magic
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077889/

I'm surprised this hasn't already been released on DVD.

    Would like to see -
    Brand X
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174515/

    Heaven And Earth Magic
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056060/

And the Maya Deren experimental films (at least some are said to be coming to DVD later this year)
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0220305/
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284203/

Max Dugan Returns - Matthew Broderick's first movie...but NOT because of just that reason....it is a very funny movie. 1983 I believe.

There is also a play I'd like to see released on DVD. Another HBO thing that has been forgotten. It was a Sherlock Holmes play with Frank Langella called The Strange Case of Miss Alice Faulkner. Also a "first" in that one....that one had a VERY young(first appearance) of Christian Slater....not that I really give a damn about him actually....it was just a very good play.

And of course the ultimate(to alot of people) HBO item people would love to see again....the Little River Band concert from 1983 with John Farnham on lead vocals.
    I know...."John Who?"....

I remember when that aired - I could've/should've recorded it...not sure what my reason was for not recording it.
That was my high school senior year, so I had my mind on other things at the time.
I kept the Fleetwood Mac show from that same year, but HBO edited it very much compared to the video edition.

I tend to favor the Aussie bands, as I said in the past (except for Men At Work )
Daryl Braithwaite (from The Sherbs/Sherbet) is my favorite singer - John Farnham did backing vocals on Daryl's Rise album (shortened and released here in the U.S. as Higher Than Hope) Try tracking down an import if you can - it's a great album! One of my favorites!

    The clown one?

    I love that movie!!!!!!!
Great movie, and one of the ones I just couldn't face losing to VHS deterioration.
I converted this from VHS only last week, it's not great, but my tape is over ten years old.
Three great performances from three great actors, and there's also that dude from MIB and Galaxy Quest that I love!

I know what you mean. I was one year out of high school when that was aired. However I am the opposite of you I think. I know Braithwaite well but only bought his stuff because Farnham was on it... There is nothing I don't own of John Farnham's music and video....including the HBO show. I DID tape that back in 1983 and still have my original VHS tape.....which is now converted to DVD with a nice menu and song breaks.
Good to know there is at least ONE other person in the U.S. who knows who John Farnham is though. I still want HBO or somebody to come up with "The Original" of that LRB show though.

That's cool...and not only from the U.S. but also from the Pgh area - maybe we might even know each other 8)

Yea, Mr. Socialite, Down on the Border, etc
I was into LRB before Farnham joined - Man on Your Mind from the album they did before Farnham is big favorite...MTV used to show that a lot in the early '80s (MTV used to be cool once upon a time believe it or not )
They even played The Sherbs' videos on there (We Ride Tonight and The Skill)

Cool Change is another big favorite from LRB

Yeah, I can understand it being too conventional for you.
And damn, no kung-fu or unneccessary violence.

That one was pretty hilarious. That reminds me of another Mel Brooks flick: Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Leslie Nielson rules! Peter MacNicol was great as Renfield. Still not out in region 1 yet.

There are ton of Leslie Nielsen films out over here in PAL land. Ones I've never seen released in the U.S....either that or the German title translation was impossible so they made up their own titles..

I've never seen it on Amazon.com or Ebay. As far as I know it's only available on VHS with the crappy follow-up Feivel Goes West movie.
