To some of you this might seem a daft question but i can not find any diagrams or what I need.
I am looking at buying a wintv pvr tv tuner card and i want to connect it a my SKY digital box. I know the sky box has a s-video and i think the tv card has one. I take it that all i need know is to put an S-video cable from the sky box to the tv card. Will this carry sound or just video?
Also does anyone know of a site that is clear and has diagram?

I have DirecTV not Sky, but hooking a cable from the box to my card was just this easy to do. Yes, the s-video cable will only carry the sound, you will have to hook up the audio to the inputs on your sound card.

Thanks. Thats a help for most, i take it that the audio cables go from tv tuner card to sound card?

If you are capturing from your Sky box all you need to do is run the svhs cable from it to the input on your cap card, and run the Sky boxes audio outputs to the inputs on your sound card. After that you should be ready to go. You may need to change some options in the capture software to tell the card where the video and audio are coming from (ie line in, microphone or svhs, coax for video).
It's pretty simple, but you may need an adaptor for your audio if your sound card doesn't have RCA inputs. They are really cheap though and straightforward.
