I just got this recorder and have noticed a big difference in the color which is not very good compared to the original. I am checking this even without recording I have a switch and switch between the source and the Pioneer and the Pioneer seems to lose too much color. I have tried adjusting the input settings but nothing seems to help. Has anyone got any ideas. These test were also done in the one hour recording mode so it is not using too much compression.

Number 2 you need to adjust the output. There should be at least 2 different output settings ... maybe more. So you need to adjust that until you find which one most closely matches the source. It will probably not match 100% but that is just the way it is. Even a VHS recording doesn't tend to match 100% so this is nothing new.
I'm basing all this info mostly on the Panasonic stand alone DVD recorders but I'm pretty much sure this also applies to the Pioneer stand alone DVD recorders.
