    Are there any freeware programs that do a nice job for making photo CD/DVDs from my digital photos? I don't care about transitions or sound, I just want to make a nice slideshow, at the highest resolution possible. Some nice menus would be a plus.

    Please send me any recommendations you may have. I am new to this and don't know which program would be best.

    EasyVCD works great for making a photo CD. DVDAuthor will make a DVD for free but you need to learn a lot to use it. Check out the Tools section.
