    I've acquired a MotoDV IEEE-1394 Firewire PCI card. I installed it in my Windows 2000 PC.

    However, the supplied drivers are only for 95/98/NT. And it appears that the company that made the MotoDV card was bought-out by Discreet.

    Windows "sees" that there is a IEEE-1394 device installed, but the drivers aren't loaded. The yellow (!) icon is shown.

    I emailed Discreet to see if the MotoDV card can be used in a Win2000 machine, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

    After some research on the Web, I've found that it is possible to have it work in Win2000 if I install something called the "Windows 2000 Updater". However, that "updater" was distributed by the MotoDV people. And since they are no more, I can't find the updater.

    Anyone else encounter this? Any suggestions?

  2. Yeah: Radius=>Digital Origin=>Media 100=>Autodesk aka Discreet.
    I'm assuming you have the Radius/lynx card that shipped with MOTO.
    The Media 100 driver is all you need. I'm 2k with Cinestream/Premiere5.1 - works great after manually assigning irq (shouldn't have to if you're not using every
    slot). There are three files: PCILYNX.VXD/Radlynx.sys/
    pcilynx.inf. Getting them is the problem as I'm not sure they're available on the web (you might call autodesk and tell them to email them to you - root dir of cinestream
    3.0cd). I can send them if you like.

    Thanks, but what does:

    "Radius=>Digital Origin=>Media 100=>Autodesk aka Discreet"

    refer to? A website trail? If so, which website?

  4. Sorry, I've been using this card too long. Yeah, a trail of evaporating support as Radius was acquired by D.O. and was in turn swallowed by Media 100 that was bought by Autodesk whose `streaming video division' is Discreet.
    Kinda biblical big fish begatment.
    Anyway, I emailed the files with instructions. The card works just fine. I'm using premiere 5.1 and Cinestream.
    If you need the Adobe photoshop plugin let me know.

    Thanks for sending me the files. However, haven't gotten your email yet. If you sent it already, perhaps you could try a re-send?

    Thanks...

  7. Is your email client configured to accept attachments?
    There are 3 files 44k-45k-50k. From this tin can the
    word is that both messages were sent successfully to the
    address listed in your profile.

    Got them. Sorry about that. I get so many daily emails from people I don't know (i.e., junk), that I got a little trigger happy deleting. Since I didn't know your name, I guess I just chucked your mail too quickly.

    I looked in my trash box, and there it was.
