  1. i'm taking different video sources i record on my standalone, ripping to the hard drive, and using TMPGend DVD Author to add them together and make menus. dvd author puts all the sources together and plays them consecutively which is fine. i want to know if there is a way to make an icon on the main menu for each source. that way at the main menu i can pick which source i want to start at instead of going to the title menu and picking the first chapter of each source.

i wouldn't mind the single choice if the dvd's were only for me, but i want to share stuff with others.

In TDA, in the "Source Setup" menu, choose "Add file" and put there your first source, than choose "Add new track" -- there put your second source, and so on. Thus, on the main menu you will have a button for each source.

  3. that's what i'm doing. i'm using "add dvd video" and adding the different sources i want. they all show up fine as chapters, but there's only one icon on teh main menu. should i rename the vob file to mpg? would this alter teh quality of the video any? i'll try it tonight and see. thanks for the reply, btw.

I think you missed the point that W_Eagle was making.
You need to add each video onto a NEW track, not just append them to the same track.
You must put video no.1 on track 1, video no. 2 on track 2 and so on..
This way you get each video appearing on the main menu as well a chapter menu for each.

And if you want all tracks to play one after the other automatically, you will need to click on the 'Menu display settings' option and under 'Action to take after each track has been played' select the 'Play next Track' option.

  5. i don't want to be a pain, but i can't figure out how to do this. if i add video it automatically appends it to the first. are there some settings i'm missing that should let me change this?
