I used DVD2AVI, with no succes...

How do I take the 5 VOB files (the sound is in it) a decent DivX AVi ???
I just need plain simples rules...

I'm sure I have to extract the sound to a mp3 files and then re-assemble everything in 1 avi file...

    Thanks for reading...

I wouldn't, my dear "Steffie". I would use Virtual Dub mod, load each VOB into it, save each as an DivX AVI. I then would append each one to make a single DivX video. Or you could try Ulead Video Studio to join all the AVIs to a single file. That's just what I would do.

Thank-you, this also helped me. I didn't know the mod version can load
*.vob. I am having problems were DVD Author (and others) doesn't bring up a couple of chapters (*.vobs) when tring to reauthor the dvd. So, with this I can change the vob to a uncompressed avi and then import it into DVD Author (sucky work around, but it works).

    sidenote example of above:
I want to back up a DVD-9 and the dvd lets you select either wide or full screen. If I take out the full and keep wide then the dvd will be small enough to be on a dvd-r and keep the quailty. So, I have to reauthor, but some of the extra stuff (cast interviews, etc) dvd author doesn't show when pressing the add from dvd button.
