  1. Hey, just an FYI to you all - Pop Tarts is offering a free demo version of the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King PC game in their boxes.* It's not the full game, but it's a lot of it and it is AWESOME! Has anyone played it?
I was curious about it when i found it (how often do games come in breakfast?) and i looked up the site if you're interested....

    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  5. For real! I used to love Carmen Sandiego. I had it for my apple IIC back in the day, hehe.
But as far as breakfast, I'll take pop tarts over cheerios....gotta stay up thru morning classes, and sugar's always good for that!

That's my usual breakfast. Strawberry poptarts w/ a glass of milk. Helps me stay up in classes.

  9. Most of the reviews for Return of the King on PS2 have been really good. I'm going to try and rent it this weekend and maybe buy it if it lives up to the hype.

    No frosting NOOOOOOOOO!

  12. alenhard, the demo does it pretty good justice if you want to get it free instead of renting it. plus then you get pop tarts...frosted ones, even. i think they're best at like 2 am. Everything tastes better at 2 am, hehe.
    and why only PC?
    Quote Quote
  13. yeah, if they aren't frosted I won't touch 'em!

pc only...another reason for TGPO to switch!

Did you see the story about the guy who pretended like he gutted a mac and put in PC parts? He got so much hate mail...
I'm leaning toward the PC version of the game but I don't have a joystick. Will it matter?

If you can, I say get it for a console(rental of course). If it's anything like the two towers, it can be beaten in a few days and has minimal replay value.

  18. Dunno, I thought the demo was pretty challenging...got my fair share out of the free entertainment
Maybe it's cause i'm too busy paying attention to the cool graphics and stuff to worry about the attacking orcs, hehe.

True. In my experience, I've learned that games are tough when you start out and as you progress, they get easier. Maybe that's why you thought it was challenging. I still stand by my rental policy...if you dont beat it in one rental, take two or three rentals if necessary. I'd rather pay 18 bucks than 50(unless its something like halo or splinter cell) for something that'll get old FAST. While I love the graphics, the whole hack and slash repetitive combos dont really work for me.

Who can pass up a freebie?
    Quote Quote
  20. Yeah, if you practice enough you get the calluses on your fingers, which help, hehe.
we just bought halo...so fun. it's really hard for me right now, but i'm trying to catch up to the level of my roommates.
So you think I should rent the game even if I like the demo?
freebies are definitely one of life's little perks, hehe.

Halo is one of my favorites...the final level is the best.

It depends. Do you plan to play the whole thing over again after you've beaten it once? If it's like The Two Towers, it's not multiplayer, has limited replay value, and gets old fast. That's why I recommend renting.

  22. haven't gotten to anywhere near the final stage yet...i need a lot more practice. does something cool happen once you get further into the game?
yeah, i like the demo enough to play again once i finish...if just to notice the little details in the graphics.
oh, and your avatar is awesome.

I dont want to ruin the game for you...just keep playing. That's all I can say.

    Keep at it...you'll get better.

Family guy will NEVER get old for me. I stopped watching the DVDs and just watch the cartoon network episodes because it's more random that way.

I got a box yesterday and I didnt get one.

Oh well, I have $12 credit on my blockbuster account so I'll just rent it.

  27. i actually ran out of pop tarts and bought another box...brown sugar cinnamon, too, and so now I've got two demos, hehe. woohoo for local grocery stores
yeah i like watching it in a more "random" way, but i sometimes miss it on cartoon network and i've just gotta get my fix...so the DVDs can help with that. went on a binge this weekend and watched a ton in a row.
    favorite episode?

    How about you?

I have a dish so the info button lets me know which episode is on. But I'm up till 12 anyway so I end up watching most(unless I have an exam the next day).

  30. Man that's so hard....I don't even know! I'll have to ponder....but up there is Dammit Janet or the one where Stewie has to go inside of Peter's body.
And I'm up til 3 usually, i just miss it.
