  1. I've just went out and bought a new TV, it's only has a scart plug.

So i went and bought a s-video cable (4pin), and a scart adapter, which lets me plug in my s-video cable.

So i'm all set to setup my tv-out, except it's in black and white, and looks really shite, i'm using a radeon 8500 gfx (7pin s-video)

After looking at the box of the s-video cable, it dosen't mentsion that it's pc compaitable though, so i went down to currys, and they sell a "PC-DVD-TV compatible cable" although it looks exactly the same, 4 pin as well. I'm alittle apprehensive, cause i've already spent over £15 and this 1 retails at £20.

Any ideas on how to get a color picture would be much appreciated, i've messed around with limited settings ati panel has, and all my drivers are uptodate.

    My Stats:

    Windows xp svp1
    radeon 8500
    2600 athlon +
    512 ram

  2. You may need to set up your TV to accept s-video at the scart socket, rather than composite. Try delving into the TV set-up menus. Are you certain it can handle s-video?

  9. I had the same prob with my Radeon 9700. Make sure you update the Catalyst drivers. That is what eventually solved it for me. The old ones were faulty...ATI isn't really good at updating but the last one fixed it...for me anyhow.

i had the same problem using a nvidia card. what i did was plugged the svideo into my dvd recorder, rather than my tv direct that seemed to solve my problem, cant say it would solve it for you though. you could try it through a video recorder if you dont have dvd recorder.
