  1. I noticed that there are not many 'direct references' to specific titles of movies here... so instead of showing my NooBness to the board by putting a title so I'll just word it like this...
    CD1 & CD2
I have a unreleased title (VCD-mpg1), trying to convert/encode to DVD.
Using TMPGEncPlus,UleadDVDMF2 i get errors and even my software movie players this title freezes on CD1, about 7 mins. into film when viewing. Which leads me to believe it is not my method of convert/encode or a codec problem.
But infact, a problem with the file itself. Myself and a few others have also come across the same problem though.
So... first, is there anything/tool I can use to analize the file for errors in it?

isn't it amazing how you can avoid listing titles, yet still violate the forum rules?

  3. I dont blame him for not asking vcdquality, that message board is full of flamers and trolls big time.
The scene wont generally nuke for those reasons you are trying to reencode something. Nukes are given for bad a/r, terrible playback, cropped image, etc. I dont see why you're trying to make one file into a higher quality format, the picture isnt going to get better and you may end wasting your time like you did just now.
Some of this one groups releases didnt work on most hardware dvd players, yet not one nuke was established.
My advice: Stop screwing around with reencoding releases that end up on that site, wait for the dvd to come out, then Pay for it if you like it so much that its worth the effort to reencode then ask us why it didn't work.

    1. By the description I gave how do u define it as copyrighted? Rented? Or even going to be released on DVD/VHS? How do u know its not a 7 year old film that is public domain? It is infact, an unreleased title!
    2. Isn't it also amazing that after you gave your opinion you still didn't leave any valuable help/information?
    3. The whole context of the post, and heading it is in hence..'Newbie / General discussions' means that I tried to post it right? And if YOU think it is not right, by being a vet you should tell me how to reword it.
    4. I'm trying to follow the rules the best that I can!!!

I'm not trying to make the picture better... I'm trying to burn to DVD, which calls for an encoding process.
Wait for it to come out on DVD? Then if this is your take on the matter... or if we waited for releases on DVD and bought them, then what would be the purpose of DVDrHelp?

    Oh, I don't know.

    1. Backing up DVD's that we own

    2. Capturing our own content and burning to disc

Contrary to what you might think, this isn't a board full of video pirates. On to your problem, use SVCD2DVD to create a title set and burn with whatever burning software you use. Don't be surprised if your DVD turns out with the same freeze because it sounds like you have a bad mpeg.

    1. well, if you read the forum rules, it doesn't have to be copyrighted, merely unreleased on VHS/DVD (note the comma.) actually, I made an educated guess based on your tapdancing around listing a title, the fact that it's a 2-vcd movie, and that the conversion problems you're having are in many cases the result of a bad first conversion or a flawed download, and I made the jump from there. If this is a VCD of a public-domain work, you have my most sincere apologies - what public domain work is it?

btw, I think you mean 70 years, not 7, and even the 70-year rule is not hard-and-fast.

    2. not at all - if you had posted a more accurate subject line, or posted in a VCD-specific forum, I never would have looked at it, as I don't deal with VCD conversions but rarely. But since you posted a general inquiry, in a general forum, I took a look, and commented on what I saw.

    3. If you put up a posting that says "I need to ask a question, but I'm not sure how to word it. My question involves killing rabbits with a nail gun", don't be surprised if you get responses that focus not on your wording, but on killing rabbits. Don't dodge the issue by trying to get all meta-analysis on me.

    4. We all appreciate your efforts.

  8. Good comeback Housepig. And you didn't even have to use the fact that he later topedoed his on case with this line:

I wonder if he studied his writing skills from the same person that told Clinton to say that oral sex isnt sex, or what the meaning of is is.
LOL, amazing. This isnt a court of law and we can read between the lines as we see fit. Splitting hairs in here dont cut it.

    Better method.
My dad made a home movie and sent it to me over in japan where i am stationed. trying to convert/encode to DVD.

Why so critical? Nevermind a reply...because I'm done at this thread.
But it amazes me that some people can spens sooo much time being over-critical but unhelpful, after the issue of my trying to be clandestine wasn't good, and was already discussed, and already rectified! So why are u even posting? Nevermind a reply! And... if u really wanna be skeptical of the 'way' I posted... I could pretty much read between the lines of urs too! And lastly... Clinton was the best of the worse Presidents! Now do us all a favor... go help somebody!

Ahhh, the joys of corrupt P2P files. Another "First and Worst" release?

Try waiting 3 days and download a different version?

Try a progrom called MPEG Corrector (not sure if it's in the tools sction or not). Sometime sit works, sometimes it destroys the file.

You can also try VDUB, cut the bad part, then re-encode it.

You can try TMPG Author and cut out the bad part (you will have 3 titles, think about it).

You need more help than fixing a d/l video. Just because u get an email telling you another post has been made, doesnt mean you have to read it.
Just do not reply, you have ur answer.

If i started complaining about everybody who replied to posts i made that were already answered i would have an aneurysm, does this mean bgspoonz will have to read this?
