    i was thinking about buying a car dvd player and didn't know if anyone has tried playing their backup dvd's in them. Do they work or not?

    I have the audiovox dvd player M something or other and it plays everything but divx (plays vcd,cvd,svcd,dvd-r, havent tested a +R, and of course plays commercial dvd;s, mp3's, CD's).

    The answer to your question is YES

    most of the new models will play just about everything.

    I myself own the Pioneer 7500 and a Power Acoustic or Farenhiet
    which play +/- in both and also play dvd audio disc's.
