I'm capturing analog through my dac-100 from my cable box. The volume is incredibly low and also has this hum/buzz to it. It is about the same through my vcr, although there's no hum/buzz.
I'm using Vegas, but I don't see where to raise the volume on capture, only afterwards, which raises the hum/buzz as well and makes it quite annoying.
I'm not quite sure where to start now - any suggestions?

Hook up your dac-100 with another device to see if the sound issue persists. DAC has no adjustments like u said. High hum levels indicate connection/grounding issues. Try another cable. test your output from cable box. You need to isolate the problem.

Yeah, I was thinking it could be cables, and unfortunately I had to get some super-nice cables to get rid of the hum, but it sounds great now. Thanks for the affirmation though.
I still have the low volume issue from all devices. I'm tinkering with all settings I can find, but haven't found the one yet, if anyone has a suggestion I'm all years. -
Speak of the devil, I was just able to locate my problem.
All is right with the world -
It may be of some valu to members if u say what your solution was (what was the culprit)?

I have TotalRecorder installed, and everything seems to be recording through that. I had to up my levels within that.
