  1. Hi all,

In couple of my MPG files, there is a strange choppy image which keeps moving around the screen. This is actually like a cube and keeps floating from one position to the other!! Even after using TMPGEnc to encode this file, I still get the same results.

Any ideas as to this problem and what the solution could be.

    Thanks!!

  2. This is caused by the Elecard MPEG2 decoder. If you don't pay for it, after a certain amount of time, it will start doing this until you buy it. What would be nice is if they explained this prominently on their website, but of course they don't.

So you can either find another MPEG2 decoder or purchase the Elecard one.

  3. Thanks for the response Prospero424. My only aim is to back these mpg files to DVD ultimately. I play the media files using BS Player . So I am not whether I want to invest in a software for two files only!! Can I use something else to achieve my purpose of removing these choppy image before backing up to a DVD?

    Thanks..

  4. Well, that moving box is put there by the decoder, not the encoder, so you should be fine using TMPEGEnc to back them up to DVD. Just be aware that any MPEG2 file you play back from now on using BSPlayer or any other player without it's own dedicated decoder (such as WinDVD or PowerDVD) is going to have that little fluttering piece of crap until the Elecard decoder is registered or replaced.

But it's only there during playback, it's not part of the MPEG file itself.
