  1. I usually use VirtualDub, but every so often when I go to do a full encoding of the sound to increase it when I try to save it it says " there is not audio codec availiable for the conversion" or somthing like that, is there another program?

    Thanks

There are many audio editors ot there. Simplest way is to just load the AVI in GoldWave. It will load the audio track, and lets you edit it in every possible way you can. Depending on what your target format is, you can then save out the audio as wav for further encoding or multiplexing.

Well, after editing your audio and saving it as wav (GoldWave), load your AVI in VirtualDub, choose WAV audio and select your edited wav. Now, under Video select direct stream copy, and under Audio Full Processing Mode. Under Audio -> Compression select mp3 (or other audio encoder your system has installed) and then Save AVI.
