I would like to convert a VCD complient MPEG file to a DVD-R file for playback on my stand-alone DVD player. Is there a downloadable application/freeware to allow me to do this? Thanks in advance...j

You only need to convert the audio part to 48khz(with tmpgenc for example) and then you should be able to author and burn it with a dvd authoring software such as spruceup, dvdit or something.
