    My pioneer dvd-rom only plays cd-roms, and my 3.8ghZ home made dvd. Ive tryed playing, THe Hulk, Spiderman, STAR WARS ep. II. None of these official dvds work? They dont have any scratches on them, and they work fine on my stand-alone dvd player. Ive tyred them before and they worked, i reinstalled WIN XP PRO yesterday, maybe thats it? Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

    are you getting some kind of error message?

    have you set the region on your dvd-rom?

    what software are you using to try and play the discs?

    provide more info

    I get no error, my computer doesnt even read it. At random times the dvd player reads some dvds, that i mentioned didnt work. The Region is set correctly on my dvd-rom.
