Why do my posts keep getting deleted? I had two off-topic posts deleted for being "obscene" about a week ago. I scratched my head trying to understand what was obscene about it - a picture of a weight-challenged woman in a bathing suit, and a picture of a man with bee-stings on his face. I tried repeatedly to contact Baldrick, who had deleted it. I tried PM'ing him and e-mailing him, with no reply.

The last one this happened to was on 2/23/04, the off-topic post was entitled "Kiss me, baby." My post violated none of the forum rules ....it wasn't profane, obscene, illegal, abusive, racist, vulgar, or any other politically incorrect category. It was simply a picture of a man who had severe bee-stings on his face. Here's the picture:

....and the post pointed out his slow wit in attempting to eat the honey right out of the hive. No excessive profanity, no warez being promoted ....no child pornography. Tell me, what is wrong with this post? Again, no explanation was offered.
Surely you didn't find the picture itself offensive? OMG ...what if you did? In that case, I probably shouldn't be visiting this forum if its censorship rules are this draconian :P Can I get a reason for this ....P L E A S E ??? I like this forum and don't want to leave for such a silly reason as censorship.

While I have no clue why the posts were deleted, I also find no logical reason for having posted without some comments to go with it.

In short, I find it just a wast of my time, forum bandwithh, and in bad taste in general, However, i'm not of the opionion it warrantes it to be deleted. But it is not my forum, through I reconize no nexus to any of the many forum topics

If you read the post above, you'll see there WERE comments to go with it.
And it was posted in the "Off Topic" section which is for topics you might consider a waste of time, so you can avoid it, if you consider it a "waste of time" to read anything not DVD-related. :P
And I'm still scratching my head about the "bad taste" comment. Perhaps you have a family member who went "bobbing for honey" like this guy. If so, I apologize for offending your sensibilities

your post was deleted because:

1. it is incorrect information -- this is a medical condition and the text (yours) implies stupidiy on the part of this person .. This is not the case at all.

2. it has no value what so ever on this forum (not that that in itself is reason to remove a post) -- but it is a racial slur.
Your EXACT caption read "This poor bastard, who apparently doesn't have two thoughts to rub together...."


3. "racist, vulgar" were the exact rules, in this case - being broken

This was a misunderstanding which is cleared up now. I never intended the comment to be taken as a racist remark. I despise racists and other intolerant people, so I was a bit upset by the moderator's remarks. But it's not the moderator's fault either. He didn't know me from Adam, but now he knows that my intent was innocent enough but the wording could have been composed better. No more controversial off-topic posts by me.
