Does anyone know how to disable the "Network Cable Unplugged" message box that appears from the tasktray when you disconnect a network cable from a NIC (or reboot a server)... Normally I wouldn't care, but the message deactivates my screensaver and turns my monitor back on

  2. Yep....go to programs>accessories>communication>network and dial up connections. open that then right click on the local area connection icon and select disable. You have to do the same to reconnect to the local network (except click enable of course).

Thats not what I was asking. Your telling me how to disable the NIC all together - I know how to do that. I just want to disable the warning message that pops up when you pull the cable out or reboot the server... When the little icons appears in the tray with the little yellow "bubble" box that says "Network Cable Unplugged"... I don't want it to tell me that anymore, I know its unplugged because I was the one who rebooted the server its connected to

  4. I'm runnin' Win2k too...
The message on the tray near the time is definitely annoying. I have to click on it everytime I connect and reconnect to get online. I hope someone knows how to get rid of it.
