  1. . . a broken f*cking graphics card !

I have (finally) sent my GF4 Ti back for repair or replacement - whilst the turnaround by Overclockers.co.uk was quick they have sent me a broken graphics card as a replacement. Now I know they promised me something as good or better than the return I assumed this meant also in working order.

I installed the card and from the word go i.e. mem test and drive detection, the display was screwed - uppercase where there should have been lower case, mixed up letters and when I got into windoze there were vertical lines all over the screen, screwed up icons the works.

So once again I am back to using my old GF2 Ti. I have had nothing but shit from this company and it took them over a month to send out the first RMA so god knows how long this is gonna take now.

    Un-f*cking-believable.

Sorry, but that is kind of humorous... They exchanged the broken card for another of equal quality... broken I hope they straighten it out promptly... Maybe you should ask them for the next model up the line? Just for the inconvenience
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

Its ok my friends broken GF4 was recently replace with another that had the same problem after 2 weeks. Basicly a fault alot of people had with the specfic card in question from Abit, but they just don't do anything about it. Sucky.

  6. It gets better. Having heard nothing from them since sending back the second broken card I phoned them today to discover that the card has been sent to Taiwan for repair ! When I asked them which card, they said both ! Then I asked which card I would get back they said whichever gets sent back first. This is pathetic customer service and I certainly won't be using them again. This f*cking country.

  7. I once had a minidisc player from a company called empiredirect.co.uk. It was fine for about six months before it developed a loose connection on the earphone port, so I got load of crackling when it was disturbed. Not much of a portable device after that.

It was fairly easy (after an hour of queuing on the phone) to get them to take the player back. I sent it back via special delivery. It took them three weeks to return it, and guess what? It broke a day later.

I sent it back again. This time it was returned within a week, unfixed. I complained and sent it back, this time with a bit of sellotape (tiny) as a telltale. When I got it back, guess what? It was still there, and it was still broken. They hadn't touched it.

I called and told them I was tired, I wanted my money back as I was taking my business elsewhere. They said it wasn't their policy to give any refunds at all, so I refused to clear the line until they refunded me.

So they gave a refund. Except they refunded the current value of the player, which was £60 under what I'd paid. Back on the phone...

Eventually I cleared it up, after a long dragged-out fight.

They should be ashamed to be in business. And as for being a Sony repair centre, and not even bothing to LOOK at a customer's faulty product - I think this is inexcusable.

Both EmpireDirect and Sony have lost my business for good.

Perhaps I'm an isolated incident, but I'm a little angry with them.

Also, Orange. I'm never going back to them either. They shouted at me on Christmas day when I was registering the phone when I asked what exactly the Orange Directory was. They consistently gave poor and rude customer service, and they mis-spelled my surname by chopping off half of it. They refused to sort it unless I put it all in writing and sent it to two different people. No way, Orange.

I turfed Orange years ago for One2One. Great service, shame about the signal. At least they can spell and avoid screaming at their new customers.

Now, how about that rant code?

If your in the UK that's Illegal, even to put up a sign saying we don't give refunds is against the law. I have had a few run ins with companys and my rule is if they don't sort it out and then some, I don't use them again.
I will never touch Richer Sounds or Overclockers.co.uk again for these reasons.

I'm all for it - start a poll to see what the general consensus is

  9. I've actually found that Richer Sounds are outstanding with refunds, often giving me something extra or the next model up to cover petrol costs etc.

I know that's illegal but Average Joe doesn't know that. PhoneLand UK even print their own thing on the back that's meant to be a contract that you agree to by buying from them. Part of this is no refunds and limited warranty of three months. I bet they get away with it a lot of the time.

Perhaps the government should make people more aware of their rights, and scare unscrupulous traders?

If it is - They're Bastards, not so much the company but the employees - twats, just twats.
When i first made a vcd and found out they would play on standalone players, of i went in search of said player.
You must understand this was before all the companies advertised that players would recognise cdr/vcd.
Well, to cut along story short, I walked in and explained i had made a vcd of my kids playing in the park and i needed a player that would play vcd's(hadn't found this site at the time).
All i got was a look down a nose from a big fat walrus of a tit, telling me that it was impossible for a dvd player to play film that was written to a cd.
Oh really Mr Walrus, well what's this in my hand.
In know let me try this disc in your display players and see if we have any luck.
You don't seem to understand sir, it is not possible for a dvd player to play movie cd(fat bellowing laugh).
but i'm not busy so lets give it a go. off he goes shaking his fat head and laughing at the same time.
lo and behold we come to the pioneer 525 and oh my god it plays(picture was shit but i was later to find out that was my fault)
Fat man stops laughing and ejects the disc and studies it for a moment, realising he had been proven wrong he goes into sale mode and tries to tell me the spec of this pioneer cannot be beaten - bla, bla, bla.
I did not say a word, i just turned my back and walked out of the shop and bought the player in currys.

  11. Good one, curryman! I love proving people wrong!

    Don't get mad. Get even.

I had a dick of a business "teacher". Kept telling me I'd fail. I remember the day of my driving test (first time). He came in and asked me if I'd failed. I took the greatest of pleasure jingling the keys of a nice new Toyota Avensis under his nose. Gimp.

I got 120/120 in the final A-level. I worked long and hard for that flawless result, purely to rub his nose in it. I have the certificate. I'd say I'm even.

And, Slay-boi, if you're seeing this, it's no thanks to you!

Yes thats the place. I'll never visit there again. Terrible service for a store that has signs about how valued you are as a customer alll over the walls.

Excellent use of the word twat by the way

Edit : still ain't heard anything from these losers - and they are the cheapest suppliers of the NEC ND2500a DVDR Drive which I am looking to purchase.
