Hello, I just bought the Phillips R75 Recorder today. I hook it up to my TV and VCR, and when I put in the DVD-RW or DVD-R disk the display reads No Disc Ext 1 and sometimes No Signal Ext. Does anyone have any sugestions?
Thanks

Check the firmware, I did update mine once for general principles. There should be a link in here somewhere. And for recording from tv, I found the RF input to be the best, I use Cam 1 for dvd and ext 1 for the vcr. Hopefully you didn't buy online incase an exchange is needed. As for the no disc, maybe the disk is bad? I didn't want to mention that if you are on the wrong input and the device to that is off, you will get a no signal message, but will just in case. I originally tried running my cable tv to ext 1 from the cable box as I thought I would get a better picture, I had problems with some digital channels going black and white on me, that was before I switched to the RF input and did the firmware update so I don't know if that is still the case or not.

I will try that before I take this Philips back to the store. Thanks for your help. I guess there haven't taken all the bugs out of these Recorder yet.
