What it does not mention in this article, is at the time of his death he was clinically obese and had heart disease.

Don't believe everything you read Craig.
And anyway, the poor bastard was 72 and his diet was 30 year old; doesn't sound to me like he was a victim of his own methods.

  4. Ya he died like almost a year ago.......but I think that in the long run his diet isn't the best for you. I feel that it overloads you with protein which can eventually hurt you. The better diet is the SouthBeach diet.....it too is a protein diet but lets you eat fruits and carbs.

I wonder why it's on the news when it's nearly one year old news
Maybe it has something to do with...

I heard he slipped on the grease left over from Will Hays Chicken Bhuna. Guess we will never know until one of them confesses.

right, it was some medical condition, he organs were retaining fluids, this adds a bit to someone weight.

I think FARK had an artical the other day talking about the people who release the info about his heart problem and weight were basicly PETA, imagine that.

  15. "Atkins, 72, was rushed to New York Weill Cornell Medical Center by his colleague, Dr. Keith Berkowitz, where surgeons removed a blood clot to relieve pressure in his brain on April 9.

Atkins slipped on an icy sidewalk outside his New York office."

I'm not a doctor but I think he died of blunt head trauma not his diet.

Cavuto had a go-round with that Trager fellow last night. Sounds like the Doc poo-pooing & badmouthing the Atkins diet has one of his own he'd like to sell people on...

Well of course the arsehole is going to object to the Atkins diet! His organization is a pro-vegetarian group. That's somewhat like what happens when you put a Democrat and a Republican in the same room and bring up the words Capital Gains Tax. They're sure as hell not going to pour tea and talk about tomorrow's cricket!

Neil did administer an impressive ass-whipping, no doubt about it.

I wouldn't take a corpse to McDougall for a diagnosis.
