Questions about DVDx

Hi everyone,

I downloaded DVDx 2.2. I never use the program before but i want to use it. Can it convert from DVD to SVCD?? DVD to VCD?? DVD to Divx/Xvid?? miniDVD?? or the opposite?? Or what can it do?? Can someone post some guides on how to use it?? Can someone post some guides on how to use it to convert/edit?? I can't use labdv.com for the guides because they require to buy a VIP pass and i have no credit cards, debit and so on to buy. So please don't give me that site because it won't do me any good. Please reply back. Thanx guys.

I use DVDx any time I wish to rip a DVD into an mpeg...either 1 (vcd) or 2 (svcd). I never have made vcd's, but I ripped the DVD's so I could put 2 flicks on a DVD and watch on my laptop when away from home.

It does a really good job of it, but typically takes a few hours to transcode.

I have made about 10 back ups using DVDx 2.2. I like it and it's FREE. Takes about 4 hrs for a 2hr movie. That's on a WinXP 1.46ghz , 256 ram. I am sure it will be quicker with a faster PC.

Will DVDx allow me to convert from VCD to SVCD?? If so, do you have instructions on how to do that?? Thanks for any help..

Ther is a guide included with DVDx2.2. Just go to start,programs,dvdx and select guide.

It's all about converting DVD to whatever. Everything is about DVD on that guide. Nothing about converting SVCD to VCD, VCD to SVCD, SVCD to Divx/Xvid and the oposite and the same with VCD and so on.. I can't use that guide. I wanted to go from VCD to SVCD. Will you please give me a guide on that?? Thanks..

According to the DVDx2.2 site and manual you can not do what you are asking. It's a DVD ripping program to mpeg 1,2 or divix. I would look around on this site for a program that dose what you want to do or do a google search. You can also e-mail the programer at jlp_38@yahoo.com
