One thing I'm asking myself is why do I have to change the brightness of videos with the cursor in WMP, Divx Player, etc for AVI, MPEG, etc. I always find that the brightness is a little bit dark for me. Does it have something to do the codecs I have on my system or something else? I don't know if you get what I mean, but it starts to annoy me.
Thanks.

I have the some promlem. Its just the resolution of your monitor.
When I hook up my pc to the tv it video looks fine. -
Correct, same picture (too dark) from a good source will look OK on the TV screen. Check it out and do necessary adj. for viewing (not editing/encoding).
