  1. Anyone know of a program to do the conversion of real media files to mpg or avi?
No trees were destroyed in the sending
    of this contaminant-free message.
    However, we do concede
    a significant number of electrons
    may have been inconvenienced.

    'eovideo' (avi & mpg)

    'tinra' (avi)

See the Tools section for the programs and the Guides section under (rm to avi conversion) for the howto's.

Possible but not worthwhile. RM is variable frame rate. AVI (to which TINRA converts) is not. Not sure about other utilities.

  4. Hi,

I've downloaded TINRA, but when I convert to .avi, all I get is three small coloured squares in the bottom left hand corner of tehs creen, and the audio (which is fine).

Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong/what needs sorting out?

  5. Well, i got tinra 0.05 and also the tinra gui, but after converting a RMVB file, no picure comes out...only audio. I tried using different codec to encode it into avi, but the same problem. Does anyone know what is the problem?

    Thanks.

  6. Did you all also download the Stable file that HAS to be installed with the latest version of Tinra?

You also have to have Real Player installed, not Real One

    Thanks

  7. The file that i am trying to convert is RMVB, and not RM. Real player 8 can't open that kind of file. Only Real One and Real Player 10 Beta can open RMVB files. Any other solutions to convert RMVB to avi?

As was said. EOVIDEO will convert rmvb files to avi or mpeg1.
The browser doesn't see rmvb but you can add that yourself there is an extension addin option. Otherwise just rename your file to rm. Over last spring and summer I did quite a few with rm9 codecs and had no problems. Some have reported synch issues but mine were fine. That was probably because I captured my own files from tv using Helix producer 9.01

  9. Thanks. EO video is working fine and it can convert RMVB to avi.
