    Will 4X media work in the Phillips DVDR80 recorder? Phillips says it may not work. I was under the impression that if i used 4X in a 2X recorder it would only record at 2X.

    I had some errors near the end of 4X discs in my Philips DVDR75/17 until I installed firmware FF16d. It contains improved handling of 4X discs and I've had no 4X errors sinxe installing it.
