  1. I have the Canopus ADVC-100 (Which is the best thing I’ve bought in awhile) and I capture with Adobe Premiere pro. I can’t figure out where the captures limits are. The ADVC-100 makes up its own time code. So I can’t do a batch capture because it doesn’t control anything. I’d like to be able to say capture for 2 hours and be able to leave the room. Any ideas?

  3. I just tried that program and the capture limits is perfect but I had problems with the video quality. If I capture with the one option “DV-AVI” the video looks soft and blocky around text. But if I use “High Quality ntsc” the video it looks perfect. I guess since I’m capturing from an analog device (Canopus advc-100) and that’s the one I should select and only use the DV one if I capture from a DV camcorder?

  4. I also swear by the ADVC-100, but never capture into Premiere. Use ScenaLyzer Live, it will capture any which way you want, and in different formats, has almost no overhead and just all around kicks ass!!!

Hey razorback, based on your recommendation I was considering getting ScenaLyzer Live. I also have been using the ADVC 100/ Premiere pro combination. The only real complaint I have about Premiere is that its so damn sensitive. If Im capturing and the screensaver pops up or I open a browser it stops capturing. Im not sure if this is normal because the only previous capturing I have done was on a Winnov rack (which was unbelievably stable no matter what you were doing). Is ScenaLyzer Live better in this area also? Thanks

While capturing with ScenaLyzer Live I have at various times
played Games (window mode not full screen)
    played DVD's
    burned DVD's
    surfed the web

All without a frame drop - you need to get something that put 100% load on the CPU for a couple of seconds straight to cause a dropped frame

Nice! Thats exactly what Im looking for D_knife. thanks. I think the problem with Premiere is that the capture window has to be at the forefront for it to be capturing. Thats really the only reason I can think of as to why it would do that. Ordering ScenaLyzer Live now. thanks again
