    What software will take native DVD format (VOB, IFO, etc) and will convert this to AVI?

    Can you name a few?

    Virtual Dub mod, and if you change the VOB extensions to .mpg, both Virtual Dub mod nad TMPGEnc can.

    I just tried this in premier 7.x and premiere will not directly import VOB files, but once I change it to MPG ext, it can import it. (for some reason though the audio is delayed about 10 seconds out of sync with the video.. proabably due to me not knowing much about premiere )

    So... what is MPG file format? Is this like the AVI file, is it just a container to "hold" video and audio streams? I know I have seen file ext like this before, but not sure how all of these relate to each other.
