Hello everyone, First I like to say I have searched the boards but didnt find anything.

I bought the ADVC 100 based on reviews from this site. (Just got it today
I am connecting to the firewire port in my Soundblaster 2. I have read about the problems some people have had when doing this, Im just not sure if thats whats causing my problem.

I have tried Adobe Premier 6, DVD Moviefactory, and WinDV.When trying to capture video (From both a DV camcorder, and a VCR) the following happens. All three applications freeze up more often then not. I was able to capture a small piece of analog video with WinDV but even that freezes up most the time. In premier when I open the movie capture screen I cant even get the picture up in the preview screen(Same with moviefactory).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

That could be the problem. From what I've read about the ADVC-100 it would be better to use a dedicated FIREWIRE CARD than using the SOUNDBLASTER 2. I purchased a ADAPTEC 4300 PCI FIREWIRE CARD and have no problems using it with my ADVC-100.

Thanks Budz. Ill look into a dedicated card, it seems the one you mentioned is recommended often. I think it also may be premier 6. I dont think it is very good at capturing. I just tried premier 7 and it works much better. Anyone else found this to be true?
