  1. How can I view on my laptop/desktop the video from a Camcorder connected by firewire? Like when you connect the camcorder to the TV.

    Do you mean watch, or transfer to your desktop/laptop for editing/veiwing/burning?
    If its the latter you need software capable of 'capturing' the source from your camcorder via your firewire card/cable.
    Look at the following three...
    1) DVIO : free, no preview window, no editing facilities
    2) Scenalyser : not free, preview window, no editing facilities
    3) Pinnacle Studio : not free, preview window, editing facilities
    Also, try the guides on the left of your screen, they're very good.

  3. Thank you. I mean just showing the tape on the computer and not on the TV. No editing.

    If you're using XP, you should be able to watch in windows explorer - it should be listed as a device - but you won't get any sound.
