  1. I am trying to compile a demo DVD of film trailers from DVD rips using Adobe Encore DVD 1.0 (trial). Unfortunately Encore will not allow me to import a VOB, only strictly compliant MPEG2. I would like to change the VOB files I have ripped using DVDDecrypter into MPEG2 files without altering the quality, bitrate, framesize etc... Is it possible?

I realise there are other DVD authoring tools available that could handle VOBs but I would like to use Encore so that I can create some really cool high quality menus and interactivity that no other tools appear to be capable of.

I'm not familiar w/ Adobe Encore, but if it accepts elementary streams (.m2v video only files and .ac3 audio only files, etc.), DVDDecrypter will de-multiplex the VOBs into elementary streams.

try renaming the file extension to mpg. This works for some programs.

  5. "a" way would be to rip to hd using dvddecrypter but change the setting to rip as one large file instead of individual vob's and then use isobuster to extract the mpeg2 files out directly.

    renaming the vob's is easier

TMPGENC DVD author pulls vob in

  6. Thankyou to all who have taken the time to reply so far.

I decided to try using DVDDecrypter. IFO Mode, Direct Stream Copy with the IFO Mode> Options> File Splitting> None.

This resulted in a file which Adobe Encore DVD would import once I had changed the file extension to .mpg. However, as I previewed the file in Encore the longer into the file I went the more out of sync the sound became. This solution will work for me for the time being as I only wish to compile some movie trailers which are not long enough in duration to go out of sync.

I have tried TMPGENC DVD author before but it is not as capable as Encore at creating the kind of complex menus and interactivity I wish to produce.

Isobuster extraction did not work, but perhaps I am doing something wrong there.

Still if anyone can come up with an answer as to how to produce longer MPEG2 files from a DVD rip that aren't out of sync with the audio I'd greatly appreciate it.
