  1. Let me ask what is probably a dumb question but, I would like to play video files on a T3 without Kinoma. Are there any other apps that will play other formats than the Kinoma player/producer?

Problem, for example, I start with a divx or xvid then use virtual dub to convert/resize etc. This produces a file 170MB, Ok. Put it in Kinoma, 470MB, not OK.

If I put a Divx or Xvid straight in Kinoma, Hello, would you like to send the error message to ms.

dvd to pocket pc works great for dvd to 120MB but Kinoma doesn't recognize the .WMA?

    Hope someone can help

For use on my Sony CLie, I covert my videos through TMPGEnc to mpg1 format then through Kinoma, I adjust the compression settings in TMPGEnc and the settings in Kinoma and get acceptable sized videos that way.

Kinoma seems to like the mpg1 format much better.

Aren't there any native video converts in the Palm? Sony Clie's come with an image converter which plays mpgs and other formats out of the box. I like Kinoma better though.

  3. Thank you for replying. The T3 I have came only with Kinoma player. From your experience converting with TMPGEnc and adjusting the settings sounds like the best option, as opposed to buying yet another program. Thanks.

If this is any help, check out the following link at PocketTV.com

    http://www.pockettv.com/encoding.html#parameters

Even though the site reflects this product for non-Palm devices, at least that link may provide some info that guides you what specs you need to watch for making video files for a handheld.

I use Edit Studio and made some video files from this criteria that looks really good on my HP iPaq.

    Good luck.
Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
