  1. I am a completely newbie. I know that there are different softwares for ripping original dvd's. Which good software that also is easy to use for newbies must I use to make a copy expecially of copy protected (macrovision,DECSS, etc.) DVD's. I want to use a software which does everything from the beginning to the end (burning). I want to copy DVD-9 to (2) DVD -5 or shrink it on one DVD-5

I know you want an all in one rip/shrink/burn program, but if you are willing to work in 2 steps, I'll tell you what works for me.

I use DVD Shrink to rip and shrink my DVD's. It leaves the files ready to burn. Then I use Nero to burn. This has worked well for me, and DVD Shrink is *free*, and Nero came with my burner.

Of programs which have burners built in, I think DVD XCopy is one. I would use the menu at the left of the page under *Tools*. There are reviews for pretty much every DVD tool available.

    Hope this helps

Latest incarnation of DVDShrink even has the ability to burn, if you have Nero on your system.
