  1. Moving this discussion from a different thread. I have used Ritek 03s and 04s for the last year plus. Around Christmas I got about 4 bad spindles (2 no burns and 2 that would only burn half speed). I hadn't had any toubles before or since with Riteks from other vendors, so I just stopped using the vendor. Others it seems have also experienced issues with Riteks in the same time frame as I did. Ok, a long intro to my question. Doing this sort of thing for a long time, I quickly became a complete fan of Taiyo Yuden disks. They were slow to get into the DVD market and from what I've seen were mostly doing OEM labeled stuff. Another user pointed me to a vendor that sold bulk silver top TYs. Great, but TYs are a fair bit more expensive that other "good" bulks. Not a real issue if the DVD-rs are top quality like their CDs are. Second, the vendor I was referred to is the one that sent me the bad Riteks. So before I go back to them I'd like to get others feedback on TY DVDs. Are they OK, top of the line? Same as other good brands, or God forbid like a lot of the other garbage disks out their?

(Note, not using vendor names because the last thread got a bit testy and I want to keep this one about the disks)

  2. Yes. 1st-Class media. Never had a TY coaster in my time.

(If you want to know my vendor of choice, PM me so the thread stays civilized. )

  3. TY is top class. I've burned 100's of CD-R's and some 30 DVD+R's and no coasters so far. Those DVD+r's play flawlessly on 9 standalone players
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks

Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
