[rant]I was at my brother's apartment for the superbowl.
His roomate just got a new 57" widescreen HD ready tv.
We were watching from a satelite feed (doesn't have a hd tuner yet), where the OAR was 4:3, he had his tv set to stretch the image to 16:9.

This totally ruined the game for me, I spent more time looking at how horrible the game looked, then how great the game was.

The cheerleaders were fat, Janet Jackson boob was oblong and pixelated!! Not what I wanted to see, a 12 inch oblong pixelated breast..

He gave 2 reasons as to why he was displaying it this way
1. He doesn't want to burn in the black bars on the side of the TV.
I laughed at this one, and told him to never listen to the salespeople at bestbuy

2. He feels cheated if he doesn't get the FULL PICTURE.
I almost through him out the window.

THE GENERAL AMERICAN PUBLIC ARE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS...

I spent almost 2 hours trying to explain aspect ratio to him, and all he could say was.. "um.. what?" Yet when we decided to watch star wars episode 2 after the game, (2.22:1 aspect ratio) HE ZOOMED IT SO IT FILLED UP THE FULL SCREEN, THUS LOSING PART OF THE PICTURE!!![/rant]
