  1. I have an AVI file that is 25fps and in progressive scan format. (I know that it is an MPEG-1 file, and therefore can only be in progressive format.) I want to make a VCD out of this by using TMPGEnc and then VCDEasy. I have used both programs before.

My problem is that since it's 25fps, the template I should be using is the PAL template when I go to convert it to an MPEG file. However, I can't use this format because my DVD player will not accept it. (I checked the manual and the remote, and there is no sign of the PAL option) The first time I burned it, I used NTSC and it came out very jerky on playback.

What can I do with a 25fps movie in order for it to play smoothly. Which template in TMPGEnc can I use???

Convert to ntsc film 23,976 fps,
-Load the vcd ntsc film template
-Under settings->advanced->choose Do not frame convert

You must then resample the audio or else it will be out of sync, use for example besweet with the gui. Convert the avi audio to wav and use the wav as source and select 25 to 23,976 and convert to mpa.

Join the video with new audio, tmpgenc file->mpeg tools->simple multiplex
