Please can someone help me. I have burned many coasters and am on the verge of giving up. I have burned my dvd's using nero following many of the guides on this and other sites and believe that the method I'm using should give acceptable results. I am burning using UDF 1.02 (not ISO) following all the instructions I can find to obtain readable data. When the disc is put into my standalone player, starts up, sound=perfect, Picture is present, but rolls up the screen a little like on a VCR that requires tracking. I have swithed the output ftom Pal->Auto->NTSC, no difference except that colour dissapears on NTSC.
I am burning on a philips dvdrw416 using imation dvd+r/w and attempting to playback on LG3520 with vcd and region-free hack applied.
Could the problem lie with TV? Connections (S-video) or just my utter incompetence?
I have searched wherever I can to try to resolve this as I don't wish to waste anyone's time, if I can help myself.
Thanks to everyone that takes the time to read this and and replies will be most welcome, even if you just tell me to burn all my equipment and start again![]()
This is one of the best sites that anyone could wish for and I have much respect and gratitude for all the people who are willing to share their hard-earned knowledge with dweebs like myself.![]()

This sounds more like a TV problem. Have you tried to view the files before you burn to DVD using PowerDVD or similar? Do they show the same rolling effect? If they don't then this definitely points towards the TV (or even your player), try using composite input instead and see if that makes a difference.
Try playing them on a different player and TV. -
Richard_G,
Thanks very much for that pointer, You are spot on! I had never thought that the problem could lie with my t.v., Tried a different set and the picture is perfect
I'm now left with the dilemma, of just what to do with the 17 copies of nemo and 8 copies of cat-in-hat I have
Still my loss will be friends and families gain, plus I have done some valuable learning..........always look beyond where you may believe the problem is!
Thanks again to Richard and everyone else who took the time to even glance over my problem.I don't know much and I like to keep it that way!
