  1. Is it possible to have a CD-RW and DVD-RW drive on one computer?
I'm wanting to burn Cd's on the CD-RW and DVD's on the DVD-RW drive. I know the DVD drive can do the job of CD drive, buts thats what I want to do. Will there be a conflict with two drives hooked up like that?

Any help would be greatly apprciated. Thanks.

It would be okay to have a cdrw & dvdrw on 1 pc.
    Set up would like this:
    IDE PRIMARY MASTER- HARD DRIVE
    IDE PRIMARY SLAVE-
    IDE SECONDARY MASTER- DVDRW
    IDE SECONDARY SLAVE- CDRW
The only thing is you may not be able to do disc to disc copying. (on the fly recording) with the above set up.

If you want disc to disc copying then you could set up like this:
    IDE PRIMARY MASTER- HARD DRIVE
    IDE PRIMARY SLAVE- CDRW
    IDE SECONDARY MASTER- DVDRW
    IDE SECONDARY MASTER
The only thing is with the above set up it will slow down the hard drive but disc to disc copying can be done.

Instead of doing disc to disc copying just copy the files to your hard drive then burn to your cd.

  5. OK we dont really need to do on-the-fly copying lets eliminate the chances of coasters by ripping to the HD first so much more reliable
Im running both CD-RW and DVD-RW on my system no current problems
    Welcome to the REAL world!
