    is the pioneer dv 434 worth the money or is there somthing better for the same amount?

    If the highest quality playback of VCD, SVCD, SxVCD, xSVCD, and DVD discs on CDR or CDRW media, is a priority for you, then yes... it is well worth the money. I have a DV-434 and the quality of playback on my VCDs that are ripped from DVDs is absolutely stunning.
