  1. Hi, I've been quite happily backing up my discs and they play perfectly on
my Goodmans 124 standalone and a few others, but my sister's Crown DVD player will only play them until about the last 10 minutes of the movie and then it starts to freeze. Does anyone know why this is and is there a way to rectify it? Thanks.

  3. I use Ritek DVD_R Grade A. I thought this was OK! At 77p a disc I thought it was reasonable? Not good?

do you use labels on them? I had this problem when labels were used. I went to printable DVD-r, and lost the problems.

  6. Just because it is good media does not mean all players will play it. Experiment with some others.

I have a player that get's irrational after the 3.5 GB mark. TDK's stop playing. Ritek G04's play, but I get more pixelization than on other players. That player is now in the kids room...

    Better Media helps.

Some players are just crap. I think It's a CAV versus CLV thing, the edge of the disk is spinning faster than the player can read for Recordable media.

  8. You could be right because my brother-in-law has the same Crown player
and the disc sticks in roughly the same place. I'll try other media just out of curiousity but I think I'll stick with the Ritek overall. Thanks again.
