  1. ive only just recently tried copying dvd's.... firstly i tried using dvd2one to compress the dvd9 and now ive tried using dvdshrink.

anyways, after writing the dvd i have problems playing them back on standalone players.....they seem to work fine on top brand named units but it doesnt work on my brothers ps2 and my mums alba dvd-45 (i think it is, it was only £40 from argos)....it seems to jerk alot when playing back.

im using a pioneer dvd-106d along with datawrite classic 4x yellows. ive used nero, dvd copytodvd and dvd decrypter (for dvd5's) to burn the cd's.

I thought it might be because the alba is a cheap brand but ive heard people who have succesfully played dvd copies on them.

    any suggestions peeps?

It's most likely the media. When it comes to using lower quality media, playback becomes a crapshoot. It'll work great for some, not for others.

dvd-r. The winner was a TDK (actually a Ritek G04). Note that not all TDK's are Riteks. Use :

to id the type of disc after some distributor has stamped their name on it.
