  1. hi i backed a dvd up and i cant play it in my dvd drive thro power dvd
    a disc with unsupported format in drive d it plays in my standalone dvd player and i backed it up through thyat drive ???????? thanxs also the same back up will play on my daughters standalone but not on mine hers is a pacific and mine is a pioneer hers £39 mine £ 139 going to buy a cheepy at asda thanxs

  2. The fact that it will play on your daughter's indicates the DVD is ok. I had the same problem of DVD+ not playing well on my 4 y.o. Pioneer but ok on the computer DVD rom.
    Your solution is the right one, get a new player. I purchased a Sony that specifically says it will play the DVD+R/RW formats (less than $100). Since then, I can play everything without any errors or mess-ups.
    It's not the price of the player, it's when it was made. My Pioneer was made before the DVD+ format caught on and still works great on commercial and DVD-formats. Your daughters is probably just a newer generation unit.
