I'm backing up (transferring) a number of my Son's VHS movies to DVD. I'm doing this by first going from analog (VHS) through my VCR to my digital video camera (using the RCA analogy to digital cable). My digital video camera is a Sony TRV-320. Then I capture to my computer in AVI, encode using TMPGEnc Plus, author with chapters using DVD Dazzle Complete, and then burn with Nero. I've been able to do this on about 50% of the VHS tapes that I've tried. Examples are, STAR Wars Ep 1 (for me), Elmo VHS Tapes, Veggie Tales VHS Tapes and some others. However, on some VHS tapes (e.g., Disney Movies, Blue Clues, Charlie Brown) I get "Copy Prohibited" on the sceen and the recording stops when I try to record these with my TRV-320. Is there anyway around the "Copy Prohibited", any inexpensive way, so that I may back-up the large number of Disney Movies and other movies on VHS that I own to DVD? Probably not I know, but I thought I'd check.
