BURNING ERROR... PLZZZ HELP!!!

Hi, I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out what is wrong with my DVD burner. I have a computer that is a emachine T2542. The burner I have is a NEC 4X DUAL DVD +-REWRITABLE INTERNAL DRIVE ND-1300A . When I first got it, I had it setup the right way by a professional and all that. Then I went out and bought some DVD rewritable’s. So I went to Best Buy and bought a 50 pack of IMATION DVD-R for like $50. Then I came home and got on DVDRHELP.com for help to burn. The first thing that I did was downloaded, DVD Decrypter (For I think to take off the CSS protection and Macrovison stuff), DVD Shrink 3.1 (To compress it down from a DVD9-7.58gb Single DVD-Video to a DVD5-4.7gb Single DVD) Then to burn the image that I decrypted, and shank I have ROXIO CD/DVD creatation, NERO OEM SUIT (Which came with the DVD burner) and also COPYtoDVD. I did all the stuff I’m pretty sure I needed to do, which was to decrypt and shrink all to my HD. Then I went on to the burning stage, which the first time I burned the VIDEO_TS image folder with NERO. After about 10-15 minutes/ ¼ threw the burning processes it gave me an error. It also happened with all the other burner programs I used. Some burned a little more and some burned less onto the DVD. (NERO burned less and DVDtoCopy burned more) It didn’t matter what the program is I’m getting errors trying to burn it. Then I tried using a new firmware (107v4 B-Version RPC 2 (Normal) Windows ) and that didn’t change anything. Unless I install it wrong which all I did was press the button flash and then restarted my computer. Can someone tell me if I’m missing a step, have the wrong DVD-R, don’t have the right firmware, of don’t have my DVD burner of programs setup right. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! I NEED HELP REALLY REALLY REALLY BADLY!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH.

What is the error you get

for like Nero its like a Error FAILED 2x line2875 something like that. COULD IT BE THAT IM USING IMATION DVD-R AND IT DOESNT LIKE THE DVD-R IM USING? I WANT TO TRY SOME DVD+R because i heard that the NEC 1300a has problems with dvd-r and does fine with dvd+r.. Does that really make a big difference???

I am having the same problem with this same burner. I have posted in this forum under "What am I doing wrong?" & in the Newbie Forum under "Help, trouble making a DVD Backup".

Any ideas out there?

I wonder if its my dvd-r's.... what kind have you tried using tigs??? also im gonna update my ASPI and use smartripper instead of dvd decrypter and also try to burn at a different speed and different movie.

I tried Optimum -R; Khypermedia +R; Memorex -RW. I have a pretty good detail list of what I have tried in my other posts in other forums (mentioned above). My system specs are also listed there.

I have tried 2 different movies. 1 was a single episode of 24, so I made sure the file wasn't too big. Tried various firmware & DVDShrink versions. Different speeds (1x or 2x)

I have this same burner also and have only tested 2 types of media with it with great success.Memorex +R and Xtreme -R.The Xtreme's are what I have been using mainly at the present time with firmware 1.07v4 from Herrie's site.They are a cheaper media but are certified 4x and I have not had any problems with them so far.I was getting those same types of errors with another brand of media but they were even cheaper than the extreme's(I think they were Sky).Hope this helps.

Could you burn anything with the other brand of media? Or was it only on copies? The reason I ask is because I can burn a data DVD with this media, I can burn TV shows I have saved to my HD (through my All In Wonder Pro) with this media. I only get the errors when doing a copy.

I have been able to burn anything that I have thrown in the machine with this media(Xtreme 4x -R) with no problems at all.You may have a conflict going on with a software you installed.I have seen this issue before and once I found a combination that works all other was uninstalled.I use Dvdshrink 3.0B and Nero 6.0019 and have not had a coaster yet.

I changed the Media from IMATION DVD-R to TDK 4x DVD+R and i still got an error!!!! GOD
