About 2 years ago i put a home digital video on a cd using easy cd and it replayed fine. Now when i put it in the cd player it states that it is a blank disk. I know the disk has not been over written or damaged in any way but it is not there, i have tried other computers but with no luck.

Is there any way to recover the file that i know is there or have i lost everything. the pc states that there is no disk present.

    Gratefull for any help

I've had a few CDs of stuff I've backed up and after a few years the data somehow got corrupted. I just figured it was a defective disc that maybe wasnt totally sealed and the foil inside somehow got damaged or oxidized or whatever. They never read as a blank CD though, the data was there it was just screwed up. Dont know what your particular problem is. I'm assuming you've tried all the obvious stuff - cleaning it, making sure it isnt upside down, etc. I'm not sold on the life expectancy they sell us on these things so I periodically make fresh copies of the really important stuff I have archived.

  3. Have you tried reading it with the burner you originally use to burn it?
