    To convert from NTSC to Pal you can use Virtual dub or Canopus Procoder. Good luck!

  6. If the source is NTSC Film @ 23.976fps then just speed it up to 25fps with VDub and convert the audio accordingly (various guides on this site) if the source is 29.997fps then leave it as it is as virtually all DVD players are multistandard anyway and will do a better job of conversion than you will!!

    If I wanted help I don't think I'd start insulting people until
    after I got the help. Not intelligent

  8. At no point have i INSULTED anyone FOO. I am new to all this so if someone who is suposed to be experienced tell me to search HERE. That is no help at all. At least he could have pointed me in the ridgt direction. So i am sorry if i upset anyone, but i don`t know how. If you would like to tell me FOO i would me most interested. By telling someone that the help they gave was of no use is NOT insulting anyone. By the way FOO i am not insulting you as well. I AM JUST A NEWBIE. Yes there you are, i admit it. Hope you are happy now. Blooy hell I have just insulted myself

    Do some research and read the guides. You are the one with the pointless opening remark you give no details on your files or what software you have. There is a little button labelled search if you type in dvd ntsc to pal you get

    http://www.google.com/search?s=main&as_q=dvd+ntsc+to+pal&domains=www.dvdrhelp.com&site...p.com&safe=off

    Hey presto a shed load of answers which you could of got minus the silly questions, moaning and the bitching. Not taking into account it took 5 hours to get a response which you consider helpful which told you to look at the guides anyway.

  10. At Last. Thx for the link but not for your coments which were usless. If you read the above it says THIS IS A NEWBIES section, ok not those axact words but you know what i mean. How can i search for something i know nothing about, hence me being a newbie. I sugest people who have nothing constructive to say should say nothing at all. Liralion , god bless his soul , gave me the information i needed. So thx to energy80 (looking into yours mate) and liralion.

  12. Being told to read the guides is not useless information if you don't know they exist. People are a real help on this site but will not spoon feed you a step by step giude if they exist.

    But I think your right "people who have nothing constructive to say should say nothing at all". So from now on you may find you get very few replies to your postings.

    As I can not tell if you'll find my advice constructive I won't bother giving it.

    A Newbie with attitude god gless em.

  14. re: ntsc to pal on dvds
    see the last section of this definitive guide:
    http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion/index.html
    to convert the resulting stream to a dvd with subtitles and chapters see the definitive authoring guide:
    "DVD Authoring in IfoEdit" at http://www.doom9.org/
    if using avisynth 2.5 you will need an updated script to replace the one in standards conversion:
    LoadPlugin("MPEG2Dec3dg.dll")
    LoadPlugin("LoadPluginEx2.dll")
    LoadPlugin("SmoothDeinterlacer.dll")
    MPEG2Source("K:\NTSCtoPAL\First.d2v").Converttoyuy 2
    #change above to your path
    SeparateFields()
    Weave()
    SmoothDeinterlace(doublerate=true)
    ConvertFPS(50)
    LanczosResize(720,576)
    SeparateFields()
    SelectEvery(4,1,2)
    Weave()
    ConvertToRGB()
    to find the drivers and programs simply use a search engine.
    good luck and allow lots of time for the conversion. i do max quality and two passes which takes 36 hours on 1.4 cpu and 18 on 2.8 cpu.
    you get very high quality and cannot tell the pal dvd from the ntsc you started with.

  15. Again.Thx to everyone who has helped including those mentioned previously adn Roe5685. I just could not see the point of all the negative replies. They would have been better off saying nothing then i might have to search myself. But it is nice to advice so i know EXACTLY what i need. Thx again to those who helped. I wll not respond to any negative thoughts here so please don`t bother. It was help i needed.

  16. Welcome to the forum m8.

    I too wanted to convert NTSC to PAL.

    Fortunately i got a lot of help from people who probably remembered that they too needed help from such a forum.
    As you mentioned it is for Noobies and General questions so i can't see the problem. I've found even searching that there are so many opinions and methods that you basically get overwhelmed. That is why i posted the question and as i said some "Top" helpful people answered and not the type that "Flamed" me.

    Anyway what i do(after advice on the Forum) is Load VirtuaDub and open the AVI file.
    Then goto File>Start FrameServer and save the file as Anyname.
    Then when the dialogue box is running open TMPGenc.
    Load the template you require eg. SVCD Pal and Load your the Frame server file as the. video source (Note select "Any file" or else TMPGenc won't be able to find it.)
    It is best to just convert the Video. So select "Video Only".
    Then click Start on TMPGenc and away you go.
    You can use "ffmpeggui02c" to extract the audio from the Original AVI file to AC3.
    Then just Multiplex the Audio and Video and it works great.

    Hope this helps. It certainly works for me.

    One day soon remember your experience in previous posts. Maybe we will all be tolerent of Noobies if we do this.

  19. Sorry foo but hardcoreruss was the first he said " There are multiple ways to do what you ask, try checking the guides and doing some research". Just a pointer in the right direction is all i wanted. To say go and search yourself is NO help to a newbie. If you don`t agree them let us beg to differ and let the matter rest. As you can see some people were very help full. Even hardcoreruss with his negative replies gave me a site to go to (thx mate). So as i said please let the matter rest and if any nebies ask for help either give it to them or SAY NOTHING

    There is a program called DVD2DVDR which can do this "Automatic"
    Overall, it is not a good idea converting NTSC to PAL and vice versa.
