What is the Media Code/ID of a dvd and why is it important? I've been seeing it and reading about it a little but I still don't know exactly what it is. Can somebody give me a link to a faqs about it or tell me what it is and why matters? Thanx

some nice information there -
Basically, it means the quality of the blank dvd-/+R/RW that you have
for instance:
I use some DVD-R that are labeled "PRINCO"--deemed to be bad (but also which I've never had a problem with)--mine are generic DVD-R 1x
and TDKG02000000-store bought TDK branded DVD-R 2x that are deemed to be good
and TTG01--store bought TDK branded DVD-R 4x that are supposedly VERY good...
(these are what I have on hand right now...)
I've seen posts here that say that TAIYOYUDEN is the "best" that you can use...
some swear that media made in Japan is better than media made in Taiwan...
Naked Geek used to say that his media was the best...
Pretty much boils down to "what works for you is the best"...) though take advice from the people here...they know what they are talking about when it comes to which IDs are "best"just a thought
