  1. Hello, I have two questions: 1) what is the best way to convert wmv to mpg/vcd. I tried using TMPG but it does not seem to take the file, do i need any addons? In the mean time i have used the stoik converter to switch the file to avi. However after i convert to avi I try converting to mpg with tmpg and easy video converter and both fail to go the entire length of the film. 2)Do i need to patch the avi file at all? and what program should i use? any suggestions would be appriciated!
    thanks

If you cannot find the .wmv file, select all files. If you got a file not supported error in TMPGEnc, try this.

  3. 1. First, install the Matroska filters by Gabest.
    2. Next, use Graphedit to re-mux the WMV files to MKV (leave them compressed).
    3. Then open TMPGEnc and browse to the newly created "MKV" file by selecting "all files".

The Matroska files will load through the DirectShow interface. This also works on Sequentialy Numbered files, although the video freezes for a half second at the end of each "Windows-Media" encoded file. (This can be taken care of with the "Source-Range" option in TMPGEnc.)

Worked every time i tried it!!!!
