    I am looking for a good deal on a dvd player that supports dvd-r. Anybody know of a good cheap unit for sale (say $30-$40)? thanks

    Circuit City has one on sale now for $32.99 after a $7.00 mail in rebate.
    The ad does not indicate what brand it is.

    thanks for the replies. Yea I actually went to both stores yesterday to look. Walmart has got an Apex for around $45. The AMW at Circuit City is ugly as all hell, but for the price I might be persuaded to buy it.

    So I got the one from Circuit City w/ the $7.00 rebate. Its an AMW model, plays all major formats. Its not as ugly as I originally thought, but kinda boxy. Its silver in color. Good deal on a cheap unit.
