Futureshop has a spindle of 25 for $40 CDN, but I'm not sure who makes the Mitsumi Media.

I don't see any rating for this media, and I'm hesitant to buy media if I don't know who the manufacturer is.

I've got a Pioneer A06 and to date I have only bought RITEK G04's from blankmedia.ca those are excellent discs (IMHO)

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am also curious about this media.
Even a quick google search for mitsumi dvd-r turned up
nothing in the first few pages.
If anybody has this media please post the media code

    TIA

That Media code tells me all I need to know.

According to the DVD media list these are the same discs sold under the brands:

    Commodore
    Primeon
    Sky
    Swisstec
    Yakumo

Not one of these gets a favourable rating in the media reviews here.... I'll stick with the Ritek's I get from blankmedia.ca..

    Thanks

  7. Successfully burned two discs now with over 4.2g on each. Both were the media code I posted previously. Only burned at 1X though on Pioneer 104 firmware 1.31. Sounds like they may pack different kinds of media in these cake boxes.

From the previous reviews of the media it sounds like they will only burn at 1x even though they are rated as 4x so TTM your results are consistent with what the other posters have said.

I checked some of the other reviews of people with the AN31 media code, and those reviews aren't favourable either...

Thanks guys, I'll be staying away from these myself.

Maybe you should post your results in the Media List, since Mitsumi isn't listed there at all...

  9. I have had no problems with AN31, and I have the pickiest standalone in the world when it comes to DVD-R.

Man these disks are wierd. I bought a 25 pack out of curiosity.
The 1st disk was media: an31
The next five have been media: infosmart01
Wouldn't surprise me if I find a damn princo in there somewhere.
This is just a repackager getting media from wherever they can.

Thanks, I'll be sticking with the Ritek G04's from www.blankmedia.ca at $80 for 50 or 100 for $150 I get peace of mind knowing that I've never had a bad burn... and they all burn at 4x with no complaints.
